Brett Daniels, as Chief Operating Officer of The Urban Group of Companies, focuses on identifying and analyzing real estate opportunities, overseeing the transaction brokerage, sourcing the purchase and refinance debt, portfolio renovation and construction oversight and operating the real estate projects through their lifecycle with the firm. In this capacity, Mr. Daniels manages Urban affiliates including Urban Brokerage, Urban Housing and Urban Eco Housing, which acquire, rehabilitate, lease and manage multifamily and commercial properties in five states.

Mr. Daniels and his team currently manage approximately nearly 1,000 multifamily housing units as well as mixed-use and commercial real estate projects.

Mr. Daniels attended California State University, Northridge where he studied business with an emphasis in finance and real estate. Upon graduation, he worked for the “Big 8” accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche (formerly Touche Ross & Company) in the Management Consulting Group. At Deloitte, Mr. Daniels’ focus was finance, healthcare technology and real estate construction / development, including project oversight for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Metro Blue Line, and the Port of Los Angeles’ Cabrillo Marina developments.

Mr. Daniels spent time abroad during which time he created and managed several small businesses. Upon his return to the US, he co-founded and was a partner in the real estate brokerage firm Income Property Specialists. Subsequently, he co-founded, with Scott Chaplan, a number of professional real estate firms in operation today including but not limited to Urban Eco Housing (revitalization of inner city housing and communities using sustainable building materials and resident empowerment), Urban Housing (management, maintenance, construction & development and ancillary services of income property), Urban Brokerage, Inc (real estate brokerage services) and the American Alliance for Affordable Housing, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit focusing on real estate and resident empowerment.

Mr. Daniels is a licensed California real estate salesperson and the Managing Member of dozens of real estate holding and service companies.
